WonHundred Word Wednesdays

There was nothing left of the money except a few coins. It was gone. He looked at the cupboards that were once filled with food and sighed.

When he had inherited the millions of dollars from his grandmother, he thought it would last the rest of his life. But then the expenses started rolling in. Braces, clothing, and college for the kids. A new house that overlooked the lake he’d loved so much. And hospital bills. So many bills.

Now there was nothing left. He locked the door and shuffled toward his son’s car. This was no longer his home.

Now see what everyone else came up with!

  1. Crazy how fast a million can go. I'd like a chance to see how long I could keep hold of a million. ;)

  2. agreed, I'd like to try, too! I love that it just kind of slipped away from him without him knowing what to do about it. realistic I think.

  3. While he doesn't have the money anymore, I do like you ended with mention of his son. It hints at what he still has.
