The text message simply said 'very clever.’ No name, and the phone number was blocked. She looked up to see who could have sent the message, but it was in vain. Everyone had their phones out.
She’d been so careful as she set up the heist. No one should have known anything. The art dealer didn’t deserve the painting anyway. He had cheated her buyer out of millions of dollars.
She quickened her step and ducked into an alley before texting back, “Who is this?”
When there was no response, she relaxed. Until her phone buzzed again. “Your worst nightmare.”
