WonHundred Word Wednesdays

The coronation had happened several days before, but there was still talk of a revolt. She had done her best to keep everyone happy, but she had rivals that spread rumors among the villagers.

She decided to go to her father's grave, to ask his advice. He had always been there for her before and hoped that talking it out would help her.  She knelt down and cleared the debris from off the stone and began talking.

Tears ran down her cheeks as she spilled out her sorrows.

“Hannah?” a voice said from behind her.

She whipped around, surprised. “Father?”

WonHundred Word Wednesdays

He had waited twenty years to return it, but he needed the perfect moment to make it right. Now as he readied himself for the evening, he took a peek at it again.

He smiled, remembering how she’d dropped it as she’d run from the ball. He thought he’d never see her again, but a trip to every house in the kingdom found her locked up in the kitchen of a small house.

She was his dream come true, and had shown it every single day since then. He pulled out the glass slipper and polished it one more time.

Now go see the others!

Phoibos' Curse on the Gates of Atlantis

Our launch at Provo Beach Resort was supposed to be awesome. Epic, even. Fans, fun, and a beach theme. What more could you ask for?

Lots, apparently. We found out a couple weeks before that J.R. wouldn't make it to the launch. A day or two before Mikey had to cancel for health reasons.

But that's not all.

All morning I had people texting me, telling me they wouldn't be able to make it to the launch. These were the people that had been so awesome at coming to all my launches. But they were sick, or had family in town or had to work. I smiled, told them it was okay, and moved on.

Then two hours before the launch, I got a call. Wendy had gotten in a train wreck on the way down. No, seriously. A truck had been spraying weeds and got stuck on the tracks when the arms came down. Thankfully there were no serious injuries. Just bumped heads, scratches, and a lot of rattled nerves.

Phoibos had almost gotten his way. He'd wanted to keep Atlantis a secret, and he'd done a pretty good job of making that happen.

We weren't about to let that ruin our day though. Juli, Laura and I had a lot of fun together. We had friends and family stop by and we sold at least one ebook set that night to the lady who had helped set up the reservation.

Sorry, Phoibos. We still beat you.

WonHundred Word Wednesdays

“Spare some change please?” The little street urchin looked up at me with her hands held out, her large eyes pleading.
I felt the small amount of change in my pocket, thinking. There were so many poor people around me, all needing food. If I were to help her, everyone else would surround me.
Times were tough everywhere, but the typhoon had hit this village the worst, being on the coast.
The little girl tugged on my pant leg again. “Please? I’m so hungry.”

I dropped to my knees and placed my coins in her hands. “Share with the others.”

Now go see what the others did!

Official Book Launch for The Gates of Atlantis

Last September a group of us came together to talk over a story idea. We ran a few different options through and came up with the story of saving Atlantis. We each came up with our own characters, but we had the same basic plot line.

Hours were spent on Facebook and Skype, making sure we were all on the same page with how we wanted the city to look, tunnels to work, magic to work, and how the story was going to end. We had battles between each other and made them up to make our story and our group stronger.

Flash forward to July 28th, and our books released to the world! We held a blog tour, an online party, and finally it was time to have a book launch.

I took my two sons with me and we picked up Mikey on the way. We all met up at Hastings in Ogden and were treated to smoothies and muffins while we sat and talked about our books. We sold a couple sets and talked about upcoming signings and events. It was a fun few hours!

WonHundred Word Wednesdays

There was a strange wailing sound coming from the next room. She buried her head under her pillow, hoping to drown it out.

When it didn’t stop, she sat up, angry. It had to follow her here. She’d tried to get it to stay in its own colony, but it refused to listen. It had purred in her arms all the way home.

She climbed out of bed and made sure no one else was awake before sneaking into the room adjoining hers. She knelt and picked the dragon up, hoping it would quiet its wail before anyone heard it.

Now check out the rest!
