It's all bills, bills, bills. That's my only answer now. I slammed the food down onto the table a little too hard, but I couldn’t help it. I’d had so many plans for the money I’d inherited. But along with the money came bills.
Children sat at the table, anxious to eat whatever was in the pot. Sadly, it would be soup again. It was all we could afford. I flinched each time their smiles turned to frowns when they saw what was in the bowl.
Tomorrow I’d have to go back to work to beg for my job back.
