Spider threads caught at her face, a sign that no one had been there yet. She wiped away the webs and stepped forward. Dust kicked up with every step.
The meeting was scheduled for this location. She’d been very careful with her research, making sure that they didn’t know she’d been spying on them. Her boss would be very angry with her if she didn’t bring him some information.
A creak sounded behind her and she whipped around, her heart beating rapidly.
“I knew it was you. Nobody believed me.” Her roommate’s voice shook as she pulled out a knife.
