“What do you mean, you lost the lottery ticket?” I stared at the leprechaun as he cleaned his nails. My heart beat rapidly. He’d promised this would make me richer than I could possibly imagine.
“I lost it. It’s gone. I had it this morning while I made shoes, and it’s not here now.” He leaned forward. “I can get you another one, but it will cost you.”
I marched forward and grabbed his collar. “I already did everything you wanted. Find it.”
“Most likely it’s stuck inside the shoe I made. Better go find it.” He cackled and disappeared.
