As she stopped to catch her breath, she looked back at the burning rubble that once was the orphanage. Flames shot up into the air, far above the other buildings in the area.
Her boss would be pleased, but she couldn’t help feeling sorry for her friends who no longer had a home. She’d made sure they were out of the house before she started it on fire, but they still had nowhere to go.
All she had to do was climb into the limo and she would find her promised parents. She climbed inside and screamed. Her boss lied.
