The entrance to the tunnel was his only way out, but he couldn’t remember the way back. There were too many twists and turns, and every time he thought he had it right, it was another dead end.
He heard footsteps to the left, so he ran the other way. He had to get out before they found him or he’d be put in prison for a very long time.
He hadn’t committed the crime, but no one believed him. He’d heard that the one piece of evidence he needed was in this cave, and now he couldn’t get out.
