Was it a knock that had woken her? She sat up and listened quietly for several seconds.
There it was again. She climbed out of bed and tiptoed over to the window. There was no car outside, so whoever had come had walked.
She grabbed the baseball bat, taking a deep breath before opening the door. This wasn’t the first time she’d had to threaten someone to leave. The knock this time was more insistent. She stopped short, noticing the wisps of darkness coming from beneath the door. She thought she’d escaped, but that wasn’t the case. It was here.

Everything thing seems like an normal idiot late night guest and then nope, supernatural! I love it. A fun prompt just in time for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteIf darkness can be creeping under the door in whisps, I'd be screaming. Hope she gets away from it.
